Just thought I'd mention this blog to people: It's called Digitization 101, and it's a very readable blog about issues and projects related to digitization. I've been subscribing to the daily digest for several months, and hopefully something is sinking in! Of course, I'm sure Dr. Winget has tons of her own resources to suggest as well...
